Secluded, remote, untouched. The Okavango Delta is the worlds largest inland Delta. Due to the floods and expansive waterways, the Delta is tricky to access making it all the more magical and exclusive. Barely any other people or vehicles around, just you and the wildlife.

I spent my 21st birthday at Mombo Camp, in the Delta. This was without doubt the most memorable experience of my life. The lions, cheetah, leopard, elephant were on our doorstep. We could stay in camp and encounter a big 5 experience. The species diversity is through the roof, there is nothing you won’t spot here.

The Linyanti is a special habitat, it contrasts to the Delta as it is drier, and the mopane shrub here serves as an excellent breeding ground for my favorite, African wild dogs. Also serving as a significant elephant corridor. An elephant lover’s paradise with Africa’s highest concentrations.

Botswana offers it all, if one is looking for something above and beyond a standard big 5 safari. The Makgadikgadi Pans is a must. Vast, open salt pans stretching as far as the eye can see. Spend a night out in a fly camp or quad bike across the expanse. Spot the ’Kalahari specials’ such as meerkat, bat-eared foxes, honey badgers & oryx.
