Serengeti

‘The great migration is one of the most jaw dropping occurrences one might be lucky enough to witness… millions of wildebeest and zebra as far as the eye can see crossing the plains of the Serengeti with lions on the sideline’

Highlights:
  • Witness two million wildebeests, zebras and antelopes stretched across its plains during the Great Migration.
  • Hot-air balloon over the endless vistas of the Serengeti plains.
  • The Grumeti & Mara River crossings during the migration are exciting and heart-stopping.
  • Encounter some of Africa’s highest concentrations of lions.

In late-June-July the migration moves in from Kenya into the western Serengeti Grumeti area). From August, the migration is best spotted in northern Serengeti right near the border to Kenya’s Maasai Mara. This is when the river crossings occur in full force. If you wish to avoid the crowds however, travel during the low, rainy season from December- May.
